The Widow Wore Pink hit a few different emotions. I laughed, cried and found myself intensely sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. The book is inspiring and I draw strength from Robyn knowing what she has been through and yet her faith doesn't falter. Having known Robyn for awhile the book is a great portrayal of who she is as a person. A strong, honest person with a great sense of humor and a talent for speaking so eloquently. Her strength and insight are only two of the things that I admire her for. I highly recommend reading the book. Be prepared to be surprised and your heart touched.
This is one of those books I couldn't put down...stayed up reading through the night! Robyn's entertaining yet serious account of her transformation in Christ is transparent and honest. She is humble in her assessment of herself, keeping it real and relatable to all of us who have trials, faults, or things to overcome. She shows how living in dependence of her Savior brings security during uncertain times and redemption despite devastating circumstances. She relates her joy from the assurance of her loving and faithful Father as she has learned to trust in Him. Highly recommend this book.

What a story and what a witness! And what an adorable and delightful woman she is. Someone you would love to have as a neighbor!! I would love to be able to sit with her and talk and laugh and learn from her wisdom as we shared Jesus together. Robyn's story is quite a roller coaster and it seems she leaves little out---sharing with us the good and the bad with an honest candor. Something only a woman who knows she is loved and accepted as she is by the Lord can do..........I didn't want to put this book down. I feel blessed by reading it. Oh how we need women like Robyn in today's world. I'm so grateful she shared her story of faith and hope and triumph with us.
Robyn's story is powerful and compelling. Not only that, but she has an incredible gift of communicating her story in such a way that it connects with a person, no matter where they are at in life. I can't begin to write in this space how this book resonated with me. I am amazed by all Robyn has been through and how much life she has experienced, all of which has transformed her into a person that is powerful, genuine, loving, generous and kind. If you are stuck, wanting to believe in God, but are facing challenges as big as mountains, read this book and see how God reveals his power in the moments of life where we can't possibly see a way to move forward. I have a profound respect for Robyn, who has been tested time and again in God's crucible and has come out more precious each time.
The color pink is known to be a calm color. A widow wouldn’t normally wear pink, but one that goes through a journey of hardships learns that calm comes from the Lord. Robyn Dykstra went through such a journey and shares in her story how God lead her through the deep waters onto a land of paradise.
The Widow Wore Pink is Robyn’s story of how she survived through the death of two husbands after she left her life as a Playboy bunny and accepted Jesus Christ. Robyn and her sons, Eli and Jake, endured the hard times, including losing Robyn’s mother and their grandmother to cancer. Robyn felt very alone in the world but knew she wasn’t. God was taking care of her and her sons’ needs.
This book is very real in the emotions and thoughts felt at each stage of Robyn’s life. Most women will be able to connect to her ordeal in some way and grasp hope that their story isn’t finished either. There is always hope in God.
